About the Reenactment

The Battle of Gloucester reenactment will bring the American Revolution to life on June 20–21, 2026 at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The weekend will feature large-scale land-and-sea battle reenactments, reenactments of the civilian evacuation, immersive encampments, historical demonstrations, living-history experiences, educational programming, and family-friendly activities honoring the 251st anniversary of one of the earliest naval engagements of the American Revolution.

The Battle of Gloucester, fought in August 1775, marked one of the first instances in which local militia successfully challenged the British Royal Navy at sea. Historians widely recognize the skirmish as an event that helped inspire confidence in the colonies and contributed to the eventual creation of the Continental Navy.

The commemorative weekend is expected to draw reenactors, historians, educators, visitors, and media members from across the United States and beyond.
